Site Evaluation

~Location - Location - Location ~

These are the three most important variables to look for in vineyard land. 

The best sites will have a good elevation with good surface drainage for both air and water.  Hillsides with less than a 6% slope would be ideal.  The aspect of the slope will vary depending upon the variety of grape and latitude the vineyard is located in.

Most growers rarely have the best sites on the East coast but have good sites and with proper management can yield a sustainable quality vineyard
